In Lunar Syndrome the Desirous Avenue to Set Effective Prediction - Moon Effect in Vedic Astrology

Sun, the generator of power emitting spirit and making lives, is the talking point in Vedic Astrology, while Moon, the conductor of power lent by Sun, also rules the lives of the living beings on Earth. If Sun is the individuality, Moon the personality. Moon presides over impregnation, birth of a child, conception, and the animal instinct. She represents old women, mother and her family, grandmother, navigation, horse, mental peace, agricultural land, Lord Shiva, kindness and love, heart, services done for other's welfare and the 4th house.

A Moon sign shows its position in times of Birth. According to that, there are 12 signs or Rashis, from Aries to Pisces. Vedic Astrology considers Moon as Chandra or Lunar Deity. Chandra is also called Soma, another Vedic Deity, who is young and good-looking, fair, and handling a club in one hand and a lotus in other. The North Lunar Node, i.e. Rahu, and the South Lunar Node, i.e. Ketu, are the important facets in determining the fate of a person. During its monthly cycle, Moon passes through 28 divisions of the sky. Each of these divisions is called Nakshatra, which decides the person's mental makeup and Dashas. Each Nakshatra is further divided into four Charan or Pad. It is also important in case of match making processes.

In Vedic Astrology, The Moon's effect starts in the 16th, 51st and 86th year of the native. The Moon cycle starts falling on the native at its different phases of life - 1st cycle falls in the 24th year, the 2nd in the 49th year, and the 3rd cycle in the 94th year. The Jupiter, Sun, and Mars are known to be Moon's friends, whereas Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu are unfavorable to her. Moon sacrifices her friendly planets - Mars, Sun, or Jupiter - to protect her. Moon is the Lord of 4th house, it is acclaimed in the 2nd house of Taurus, and it becomes weakened in the 8th house of Scorpio. We will get very good results if Moon is placed in houses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9 whereas the 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th houses are bad for the Moon. Standing in those rooms Moon becomes malefic for the native.

Moon phases in 12 different houses bring various responses on person's life. For each of these phases, several remedial measures need be applied to ward off the malefic effects.

Effects - When Moon is well placed in the Birth Chart:

Inner self with the strength of mindProsperous and successful lifeStability with firm and positive thoughts towards the worldAbility to confront the hurdles of lifePersistence and peace of mindHarmonious and happy lifeInclination towards creativity - poetry, fine arts, and musicHigh level and sensitivity and good personalityEffects - when Moon is malefic or it is ill-placed:Unstable and unbalanced state of mindFailure and difficulty in lifeMental distress, poverty, problems in family life and health problems

Relationship Shuffle - Eclipses Spring 2012

May 20th and June 4th, 2012. It's that time of the year again! Eclipses occur twice a year and usually come in pairs. Our upcoming eclipses, consisting of an annular solar eclipse in Gemini and a partial lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, will be rather mild compared to previous ecliptic events. Eclipses bring changes. Even though our eclipses may be mild, there will be other stellar events, including Venus' retrograde and an outer planet square, that could amplify these changes. Because these eclipses will be occurring during Venus' retrograde, relationships and finances may suffer.

Many believe that eclipse energy is 10 times more powerful than a normal full or new moon. Some practitioners of magic set aside eclipse time to cleanse their tools and cast their spells. Full moon lunar eclipses are a very good time for banishing and cleansing away negative energy. New moon solar eclipses can help in manifesting desires. It's an excellent time to ask the universe for what you need.

Our eclipse on May 20th will be a New Moon solar eclipse in Gemini, on the cusp between Taurus and Gemini. With Venus turning retrograde in their sign only 5 days earlier, those with dominate Gemini in their charts will probably feel the brunt of this eclipse. There could also be upsets for Pisces with the eclipse squaring off with Neptune. This eclipse will be at 0 degrees 21 minutes, and Gemini's at 0 degrees really love change. In general, our lives could get very scattered around this time. Don't sign any contracts or make any life changing decisions until the effects of this eclipse has passed. Also, avoid euphoric substances, or Neptune may encourage you to "drink yourself into the gutter."

The eclipse on June 4th could create even more problems. It will reside at 14 degrees 8 minutes in Sagittarius. Being a lunar eclipse, it will occur when the Moon opposes the Sun, and this opposition will generate a T-square with Mars and Venus. With the Sun and Moon in Gemini and Sagittarius (two signs not known for being faithful), and because Venus will be doing her retrograde thing, this fight with Mars could bring major relationship upsets, especially for Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius. We may be tempted to stray from our commitments. For some of us, this will turn out to be a personal test of our willpower (brains versus hormones). For others, we could be dealing with disappointments.

How will these eclipses affect you? First off look to see what houses they will occupy in your chart. Then look to see if they will aspect any of your planets or power points. If you have any planets between 28 and 2 degrees in any sign, they will probably be aspected by the solar eclipse on May 20th. If you have any planets between 12 and 16 degrees, they will probably be aspected by the lunar eclipse on June 4th. Also take a look at the number of planets and power points you have in each quality (cardinal, fixed, or mutable) in your natal chart. If you have a majority of cardinal planets in your personality, the eclipse energy will most likely influence you before the actual event (even 2 to 3 weeks before the eclipse). If you have a dominance of mutable planets, you are more likely to feel the eclipse energy the week of the eclipse. If you have more fixed planets, the eclipses may have a delayed reaction for you (up to 2 weeks after). If you want to know more, with your natal chart in hand, contact your favorite astrologer. It's the best way to learn astrology.

The next pair of eclipses will come in November 2012, and Scorpions get ready! We have a total solar eclipse erupting in your sign. Check back in October to find out more.

Mercury Retrograde in Leo - Drama With a Capital D

July 14th through August 8th, 2012

There have been too many times that Mercury's retrograde has gotten a bad rap. This Mercury's retrograde is going to be a testimonial to what I've been saying all along, "Mercury's retrograde is not bad." Its just a time to revisit the past. Mercury will be doing his whole retrograde in Leo, and yes, Leos love drama. But, who doesn't? Grab some popcorn and a good seat, and enjoy the entertainment.

Mercury's retrograde will begin on July 14th (July 15th Europe and east), and whenever any planet is at it's station, there could be a few problems. A planetary station is the point it changes directions, either direct to retrograde (retrograde station) or retrograde to direct (direct station). Because Mercury is represented by the winged messenger, we may encounter travel delays and detours. We may also find it difficult to communicate, both written and verbal. Mercury also rules internet communications, so there could be transmission errors from texts getting lost, to banking errors, to getting dropped from your favorite chat room. But, that only lasts for about 3 days (one day before the station, the day of retrograde station, and one day after).

The planets in our solar system don't actually change directions in their orbits. They just appear that way to us. Its similar to passing a car on the highway. As we pass the car, there is a point where the car appears to be moving backward against the background. Then as we pull farther ahead, the car appears to be moving forward again. All the planets, except the Sun and Moon, turn retrograde from time to time. That's because either we are passing it, or it is passing us on our solar racetrack. The planet is close to the earth at that time, and its gravitational influence is stronger.

Once Mercury gets on his backwards trek, by July 16th, there will be other planetary battles going on. Those conflicts could cause some upheaval that may get blamed on Mercury's retrograde. There will be a few, possibly those born under a Mercury retrograde, or those lucky enough to not have any major planets or power points in their natal charts in conflict with the outer planet war, who will actually find that romance, friendship, and special events pop up in their lives right away. For the rest of us, by the first day of Ramadan, July 20th, we will also begin to enjoy the adventures of this Mercury retrograde.

Mercury will be singing with Uranus and dancing with Jupiter as his orbit begins to pass between us and the Sun. The whole week of July 23rd could bring some intriguing opportunities and surprises. Life could become exciting, and there is a strong potential for old friends and new friends to come into our lives. Brain storms will be running over, and it will be an excellent time for short trips and new ideas. By the Full Moon on August 1st, Mercury will be bouncing ideas off Neptune, the ruler of the occult. Visits from passed over loved ones will be very likely until Mercury turns direct on August 8th. It will also be a good time for any kind of spiritual connections.

How will Mercury's retrograde affect you? Mercury's retrograde will pass from 12 degrees 33 minutes Leo to 1 degree 26 minutes Leo. Get out your natal chart and pencil in Mercury's path to see which house or houses he will transit. The house or houses Mercury will be traveling through will determine the specific areas of your life that will be affected. Also if Mercury conjuncts (0 degrees) or squares (90 degrees) a planet or power point in your chart, there could be more difficulties. Also check your houses that begin in either Gemini or Virgo (ruled by Mercury). These houses could also be influenced by Mercury's retrograde.

Southern Hemisphere Astrology - Rulers and Houses of the Signs

The attributes of the signs (Western) or rashis (Vedic) is the most complex issue for Southern Hemisphere astrology. To determine the attributes of the signs, we must analyze how the Western and Vedic traditions assigned their attributes in the Northern Hemisphere. If we apply the same logic to the Southern Hemisphere, we can determine the qualities of the signs/rashis.

We see that each sign/rashi obtains its attributes from five roots:

ConstellationHouse/BhavaModePlanetary RulerElement

When we view the zodiac from the Southern Hemisphere, we immediately see that the constellations and natural houses are reversed. The sign containing the vernal equinox is associated with the 1st house. The next sign is associated with the 2nd house, and so on. Libra (Thula) is the vernal equinox in the Southern Hemisphere, so Libra is the 1st house, while Aries (Mesha) is the 7th. Capricorn (Makara) is the 4th house, Cancer (Karkata) the 10th. So our first conclusion is that the constellation and houses are reversed or opposite. The three other fundamental roots (mode, ruler, element) must align with either the constellation or the house.

We note the fortunate symmetry of mode. Cardinal signs remain cardinal. If a sign is on an equinox or solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, it is on a cardinal point in the Southern Hemisphere. The same symmetry applies to the fixed and mutable signs. The hemisphere makes no difference in mode. Our second conclusion is that there is no change in mode. The assignment of cardinal, fixed, and mutable modes remains the same as in the Northern Hemisphere.

We must give more thought, however, to the planetary rulers of the signs. The ancients assigned planetary rulers according to seasons. The luminaries (Sol/Surya and Luna/Chandra) were assigned the signs/rashis of greatest heat. The other planets were assigned rulerships moving outward in Ptolemaic order (Mercury/Buddha, Venus/Sukra, Mars/Mangala, Jupiter/Guru, Saturn/Sani) until Saturn/Sani (and Uranus) were assigned to the coldest months. If we do this in the Southern Hemisphere, we start by assigning Luna rulership over Capricorn and Sol rulership over Aquarius. Mercury has rulership over Sagittarius and Pisces. We continue until Saturn (Western) has rulership over Cancer, Uranus over Leo, and Sani (Vedic) over Karkata and Simha. Our next conclusion is that planetary rulership is associated with the house, not the constellation.

If we temporarily ignore element, we see that the only difference between Southern and Northern Hemisphere signs is a reversal of the constellation. Thus, the first house, Mars-ruled, cardinal sign (rashi) is Libra, not Aries. We need to integrate the symbolism of the Scales to that of Mars, the 1st house, and cardinal mode to define Libra. The final, and most intriguing root, however, is the element. Would Libra (Thula) be air or fire in the Southern Hemisphere? This is the most controversial aspects of Southern Hemisphere signs/rashis.

Capricorn Men

Capricorn men practically invented the idea of pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. In the late 1800s, Capricorn Horatio Alger wrote highly popular rags-to-riches tales of young men from poor backgrounds climbing out of poverty through honesty and self-reliance. Many wealthy Capricorns, from Andrew Carnegie to Conrad Hilton, have achieved wealth after starting from humble beginnings at a young age. Many Capricorn men show this sign's ability to set goals and then persevere even through great difficulties to reach them.

Sea-goats tend to have an innate awareness of both the heights to which humans can ascend, and the deep abysses where they can fall to through insanity or evil actions. Some men born under this sign have a natural talent for inspiring others people to reach their peaks. This trait is show in the humanitarian work of Albert Schweitzer as well as civil rights leader Martin Luther King, one of whose famous speeches includes the phrase "I've been to the mountaintop." Capricorn Edgar Allan Poe shows us some of the abyss in "A Descent into the Maelstrom" and "The Pit and the Pendulum."

The mythology surrounding the ruling planet of this sign sheds light on a scenario which occurs with some frequency in the lives of Capricorn men. Saturn is the Roman version of Greek mythology's Cronos. Cronos swallowed all the offspring born by his wife Rhea to prevent a prophecy which predicted his overthrow at the hands of one of his children,. After he swallows several of their children this way, Rhea substitutes a blanket-wrapped stone for the last child, leading to Cronos' eventual downfall.

Some Capricorns use the lofty positions they reach to punish or repress aspects of the culture or people of whom they disapprove. Examples of this type of Capricorn behavior include J. Edgar Hoover, Mao Tse Tung, and Rush Limbaugh. Other Capricorn find their achievements derailed by some "swallowed" or hidden part of themselves which eventually manifests itself. Some examples include Richard Nixon's paranoia leading to the Watergate scandal; Tiger Wood's actions tarnishing his reputation as a hero or Mel Gibson's angry tirades.

Capricorn's ruling planet Saturn relates to the concept of the passage of time. At its darkest, this can result in rather narrow and pessimistic life view, perceiving time as a series of deadlines culminating in the last one. Seeing time as a series of natural cadences helps sea-goats develop a less grim outlook. They may see the changes of flora and fauna through earth's seasons like nature writers Aldo Leopold and Barry Lopez. Or they may choose to use a telescope to view the "music of the spheres" in space. They can also experiment with musical rhythms, whether by playing an instrument, composing or through dance and choreography. By creatively altering their relationship with time, Capricorn men can avoid the sign's tendency to isolation and depression.

Quick and Easy Past Life Memories (When You Need to Remember Your Past Lives Fast!)

Let's talk about some quick, easy, efficient and EXCITING ways to remember your past lives, without a whole bunch of deep new age mumbo jumbo.

Why? Remembering your past lives can be one of the most liberating, exciting and transformational experiences you can have, BUT... far too many intellectuals, experts and "gurus" want you to believe you've got to go through a whole bunch of new age nonsense to have the experience.

You don't.

And I'm going to give you a few simple techniques that work like magic... immediately below.

1 - Self Guided Regression

You can spend $3-400 an hour speaking to a past life regression therapist, or you can do it yourself, in most cases... with pretty much the same results. (unless you are going to a top notch past life therapist, who are hard to find and rarely available to the general public)

A self guided regression can be done with a pair of headphones, an inexpensive audio "guide" (usually a professional hypnotist reading a script you can buy online for 20 bucks) and quite simply, it gently leads you back in time to various points in your life until you are SO young... that the previous points preceded your current lifetime.

These are safe, inexpensive and easy to do... and to be honest with you, when I'm done writing this article, like I do every night... I'm going to explore my own!

Again, this is just like listening to a guided meditation, only the facilitator (the person reading the regression script) is gently going to regress you back through your life, and allow YOU to build a bridge to the past... if you so choose.

2 - Past Life Dream Techniques

Some of the most common past life memories occur during those strange "twilight" moments between wakefulness and sleep. (often called the hypnagogic state) As a matter of fact... MANY paranormal, spiritual and transcendent life experiences happen in this state, including visitation experiences from the deceased, astral projection and lots more. The good news? If you put a pen and paper next to your bed and concentrate, visualize and verbalize your desire to re-connect to your personal spiritual (or karmic) journey BEFORE bed, you can often have very lucid, very rich memories that reveal MUCH of your purpose, path and unique spiritual journey to get to the place you are in this life, right now.

Of course there are lots of other ways as well. Past life psychic readings, tarot card experiences and even many astrologers now do readings for folks who want to go well beyond the current incarnation and way back into previous lifetimes as well. This is something you can do from home, on the phone... and in many cases, for a fraction of the cost you'd have to pay to have a real life regression done..which can cost hundreds of dollars and offer uneven and unreliable results. A past life tarot reading? MAY cost $20-$50 and without the stress associated with hypnosis.

Remember, if you've got persistent problems in THIS life... your past lives DO matter when seeking solutions. And not only that, it's a fun, engaging and entertaining way of discovering your own authentic self, and the path you need to follow to fulfill your dreams!

Zodiac Signs - Where They Actually Come From

Have you ever wonder how these signs were formed? How could man see them in the shape they are known to us? Were they actually in shape of animals like Aries, Taurus, or Pisces? Have you ever tried to locate them in sky? Well that is what we are going to discuss here. In addition to this, we will be discussing all signs and their characteristics in brief.

The zodiac signs that are present today were identified by a human being long time ago. Man noticed that after every particular time period there is a different pattern of stars and planets visible in the sky. First thing he could do after identifying these patterns was to compare them to things available in his surroundings. This is how he named all of them: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

All of these astrological signs hold different characteristics but some common behaviors can also be seen between all of them. All of these signs represent the sector of 30 degree of large ecliptic. Celestial bodies like Sun, Moon, stars and other planets are considered to determine them. They are also influenced by the time and location. Currently there are different methods that are used by astrologers to predict the nature and behaviors of these astrological signs but most popular are:

Western astrology

Vedic or Indian astrology

Chinese astrology

All of them are based on same factor that position of The Sun at the time of birth of an individual. They find out the exact position of Sun at the time of human birth. Sun takes a year to complete his journey throughout this circle of ecliptic. There are different periods of 30 days created which starts from Aries (March 21 - April 19) to Pisces (February 19 - March 20). These dates can change slightly by the difference of day as positions and timing of Sun are always changing.

It is said that there are four elements that rule these signs. Each element has 3 signs in it.

Fire element rule Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.

Earth sign rule Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo.

Air element rule Libra, Aquarius and Gemini.

Water element rule Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

In astrology zodiac signs are also governed by specific planets. We consider only 7 traditional planets for this purpose. Astrologers have termed the Sun and Moon as Lights. Following are the signs and their ruling planets:

Aries: Mars

Taurus: Venus

Gemini: Mercury

Cancer: Moon

Leo: Sun

Virgo: Mercury

Libra: Venus

Scorpio: Mars

Sagittarius: Jupiter

Capricorn: Saturn

Aquarius: Saturn

Pisces: Jupiter

Zodiac signs are classified according to the qualities seen in their nature. Based on it there are 3 types which are:

Fixed type:

These types of signs are of stable nature.

Example: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius

Mutable type:

These types of signs easily adjust them in adverse conditions.

Example:Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces

Cardinal type:

These types of signs are most unstable in nature.

Example:Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn

Come, learn more about yourself and improve your life at zodiac signs, horoscope signs and astrology signs
